Sully (Original title)
Date: 2016 (Copyright)

Country: USA

Director: Clint Eastwood

Synopsis: Drama. On 15 January 2009, a plane carrying 155 people is struck by a flock of birds shortly after take-off from New York’s LaGuardia Airport., destroying both engines. Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger and his co-pilot, Jeff Skiles, decide that no airport will be close enough and so Sully opts for a forced water landing, bringing the plane down on the Hudson River. In the aftermath of the landing, Sully is hailed by the public and the media as the hero of the 'miracle of the Hudson'. The airline and insurance investigators, however, seek to establish that Sully was wrong to land in the river, disputing that both engines were destroyed and claiming that he could have reached an airport after all. With his reputation and career on the line, Sully insists that his experience and judgment were right and that the investigators' computer recreations of the incident will prove this.
